Description | This famous classical formula is applied to four distinct presentations: Shaoyang fevers with chills, including malaria; chronic colds and flu; liver congestion affecting digestion; and menstrual disorders. It can also be considered, from a modern physiological point of view, a detoxifier of both the Liver and lymphatic system. Because it soothes the Liver as well as tonifies and warms the Spleen, it is also useful in blood sugar regulation. It bears some resemblance to, and can be substituted for, Xiao Yao San, although that product also addresses blood deficiency. *(Fratkin, Chinese Herbal Patent Medicines) |
