German chamomile, a flower from the Aster family, has a sweet herbaceous and slightly fruity aroma that has a sedating effect that will leave you feeling grounded and comforted. It has a beautifully rich distinct deep blue color much like the cooling deep sea. The color holds an association with the Wood element in Chinese Medicine. The Wood element correlates with the Liver organ, which is responsible for free and easy flowing qi and blood in the body, and relaxes the emotions.

When applied topically, it can be used for red irritated skin including eczema, skin legions and wounds. Due to its anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial properties, can assist with faster healing of legions and help to prevent infection during the healing process.

German chamomile has a round hollow dome shape that is reminiscent of the womb. The botanical name Matricaria, means “matrix of the womb” in latin. It has also been used for conditions associated with female reproduction and menstruation.
