Description | Ayurvedic Musculoskeletal Support AYUSH™ COCURCUMIN™ is a natural coconut flavored drink mix that uses traditional methods to enhance the bioavailability of curcuminoids. Curcumin is difficult for the body to absorb. Absorption of curcumin has been shown to improve when it is consumed with fats, which enhance absorption since curcumin is highly lipophilic. Adding medium-chain triglycerides (MCTs), as we have done in our CoCurcumin™ formula, significantly improves the bioavailability of curcumin. MCTs are a unique form of dietary fat that impart a wide range of positive health benefits including supporting fat metabolism and energy production. Trikatu is a traditional Ayurvedic combination for digestive health containing piperine from black pepper. Piperine has also been shown to enhance turmeric absorption. CoQ10 is added to the formula to support cardiovascular and inflammatory function. CoQ10 is a naturally-occurring compound found in the energy-producing center of the cell known as the mitochondria and is necessary for the basic functioning of cells. CoQ10 levels are reported to decrease with age. The MCTs in our formula also enhance the bioavailability of CoQ10, as well as curcumin. In order to significantly increase the tissue concentration of CoQ10 at least 100 mg per day is required. CoQ10 is used for cell signaling and gene expression helps support the immune system and is essential for healthy heart function. It also possesses antioxidant properties. Cultivated in the tropical regions of India, turmeric has been used for centuries in Indian households as a culinary spice. It is the most widely recognized and used curry spice worldwide. The herb is equally revered in Eastern tradition medicine. Curcumin, the yellow pigment provider of the spice is also the most medicinal component of the herb. In Ayurvedic medicine, turmeric is a general tonic and blood purifier, as well as supports a healthy inflammatory response. It is used for immune support, as an antioxidant, for muscle and joint support, and healthy aging support.
