Description

"This condition is due to problems in all three of the yang channels * - Chinese Herbal Medicine Formulas & Strategies.

"Although this is a complicated pattern, the main problem is one of constraint. The chief ingredients-  Gui Zhi, Chai Hu, Huang Qin, and Da Huang-  address constraint in the three yang channels and their respective yang organs. The assistant ingredients- Long Gu and Mu Li- weigh down and calm the floating spirit. Ren Shen and Fu Ling strengthen the qi of the middle burner, and ensure that it is not further damaged by the treatment. Ban Xia descends the qi and works with Fu Ling to transform fluids and open up the diaphragm. The envoys- Sheng Jiang and Da Zao- regulate the relationship between the protective qi in the exterior and the nutritive qi in the interior." Bensky: Chinese Herbal Medicine Formulas and Strategies.
