Description | Within this formula, Fu Zi, Rou Gui, and Ba Ji Tian warm and invigorate source yang. Shu Di Huang, Shan Zhu Yu, Shan Yao, Gou Qi Zi, Tu Si Zi, and Du Zhong taken as a whole nourish yin to boost the kidneys, nourish the liver, and fortify the spleen. Dang Gui supplements the liver and nourishes the blood. Gou Qi Zi, Tu Si Zi, and Du Zhong are all empirically specific for strengthening the sinews and bones and treating low back pain. This formula comes from Zhang Jing-yues late Ming dynasty Jing Yue Quan Shu (Jing-yues Complete Writings) published in 1624. |
