Description

The condition of asthma is represented by recurrent spasms in the smaller bronchi and bronchioles resulting in obstructed breathing resulting in wheezing and labored breathing. Signs and symptoms include breathlessness, shortness of breath, and open-mouthed wheezing with particular difficulty in exhalation. Traditional Chinese Medicine tributes accumulations of phlegm and heat in the lung with attack of Wind Cold on the body surface marked by cough, dyspnea, shortness of breath, sensation of fullness in the chest and hypochondrium, sensation of choking, chest pain, weakness of feet, and fatigue of the limbs. This formula transforms phlegm, relieves wheezing, supplements the lung and kidney and helps lung qi to diffuse and descend.*
