Description | To be used as a supplement to a balanced diet when treating male impotence.* The Western scientific perspective sexual arousal disorder or impotence is described as the inability to attain or sustain an erection sufficiently for normal coitus. Sexual arousal and coitus is virtually the only area of parasympathetic (erection) and sympathetic (climax) cooperation within a single behavior in the human. Therefore, it can be seen that nearly all of primary penile dysfunction and over half of secondary penile dysfunction arises from psychological causes: lack of self-esteem, fear or sense of defeat. Some physical causes (aside from direct injury to the testes) may be injury to the heart, hypopituitarism, hypothyroidism, drug & alcohol use, and diabetes mellitus.* Traditional Chinese Medicine views this dysfunction broadly as Kidney Qi deficiency (both Kidney Yin and Kidney Yang deficiency). There can also be Heart and Spleen deficiency, Liver stagnation and downward flow of Damp and Heat causing impotence, ejaculation praecox, and disturbance of food intake.* TCM Indication: Insufficiency of Kidney Yin, Kidney Yang and Qi marked by backache, weakness of leg and feet, feeling cold, easy to fatigue, dizziness, tinnitus, impotence, ejaculation praecox, and low sperm count.* Tongue: Pale color. Pulse: Soft pulse. This formula successfully addresses the factors described above by providing a strong tonification of Kidney, Heart and Spleen Qi and by calming the emotions and improving mood. This formula warms the Kidney, strengthens the Yang, nourishes the Yin, as stated tonifies Kidney Qi, Heart Qi, and Spleen Qi, softens the Liver, and clears the Damp Heat.* |
