Description | Marine organisms have been found to have valuable medicinal components. In this formula, two marine materials have been combined: the sea cucumber and a red seaweed. Both substances contain polysaccharides that can inhibit viral activity and both also contain anti-inflammatory components. It has been reported that the sea cucumber is helpful in treating both rheumatoid and osteoarthritis. The sea cucumber extract used here was developed in the U.S. and tested to reveal a high level of anti-inflammatory activity. The seaweed used in Holothalgate is nori, which is classified as a red marine algae. Nori actually has a purple color in its natural state due to the high level of pigments; it can be processed to yield the green nori used in making sushi rolls. These marine components are combined here with a high dose of vitamin C, which also inhibits viral activity and has anti-inflammatory effects. The formula substitutes for products that provide only sea cucumber (mainly indicated for arthritis), only red marine algae (promoted mainly for use in inhibiting herpes virus), or only vitamin C (for protecting against common cold viruses, and for other benefits). In relation to herpes viruses, this formula is intended for long-term use to prevent flare-ups of viral activity; if such a flare-up occurs, another formula should be used, such as Gentiana 12 (seven Forests) for a few days.* |
