Description | To be used as a supplement to a balanced diet when allergic rhinitis or sinusitis symptoms are present. From the Western scientific perspective seasonal allergies are generally transient and self-limiting hypersensitivities. They are characterized by nasal congestion, runny nose, and itchy eyes. In some individuals these symptoms can be severe and include highly repeated sneezing and wheezing in the chest. These symptoms result from the immune system over-reacting to an allergen, or common molecule in the environment which can be inhaled and set off an immune response. From the Traditional Chinese Medicine perspective these allergies, or hypersensitivies, are disorders of the Lung and are often associated with Spleen and Kidney deficiency. This formula effectively relieves the stuffy nose, runny nose, and itchy eyes symptoms while providing supportive energy to the body and avoiding the sleepy side-effects common to Western medications for this condition. TCM Indications: Failure of superficial Qi to protect the body against infection marked by stuffy nose, runny nose, and itchy nose and eyes. |
